Gryon is the heart of Peak Leaves, the Alpine village where our teas are hand-packed and where much of their inspiration begins. Rising above the surrounding landscape, Grand Muveran is an unmistakable presence here. I see it every day, changing with the seasons, but there is something particularly special about winter, when the peaks are dressed in white. They become quieter and calmer, while somehow appearing even more majestic.
That feeling inspired Sommet Blanc.
White tea has always been my favourite tea from the Camellia sinensis plant. Smooth and delicate, yet full of character, it felt like the perfect match for snowy Alpine peaks. I wanted this blend to have that same balance: light and refined, but with flavours you can really taste.
I also wanted to include plants familiar to the Swiss and wider European landscape. Apple and dandelion root bring fruitiness and depth, while blue mallow petals add a soft floral, earthy character. Apple mint brings a final touch of freshness.
For me, Sommet Blanc captures the mountains in winter: their calm, their grandeur and the feeling that, covered in snow, they have returned to their natural element.
For moments as quiet and still as freshly fallen snow.
